Cummins Emergency Stop Switch A044Z051
The Cummins Emergency Stop Switch A044Z051 meets NEC requirements for prime mover shutdown. Pressing the switch shuts off the generator engine immediately and prevents the generator from starting, running, or cranking.
NEC article 445.18 requires new generator installations and upgrades to existing installations provide a means to shut down the prime mover (engine) in such a way that it cannot be restarted without a manual reset of the generator start circuits.
The bright yellow high visibility switch is an essential accessory required by the NEC. All new installations and upgrades should include the E-Stop Switch.
In an emergency, pressing the switch shuts down the generator. The switch can also lock the generator and prevent unexpected or accidental starts during service or maintenance.
