Generac GP8000E CO Sense Automatic Carbon Monoxide Shutdown
The Generac 8000 Watt Generator comes equipped with CO Sense, a carbon monoxide sensor that shuts the generator down when it detects Carbon Monoxide.
Generators are for outdoor use only, positioned away from homes and other buildings, with the exhaust pointed away from any persons or buildings.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, invisible gas produced by internal combustion engines and any device that burns a fuel to produce heat or energy. The CO Sense shutdown feature adds an extra measure of safety to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning caused by misuse.
The GP8000E Generator Owner Manual explicitly states that the generator is only for use outdoors. Keep the generator at least 20-feet away from any windows, doors, vents, or other openings with the exhaust pointed away from buildings and preferably downwind.
According to the Generac Owner Manual, this generator May NOT run indoors. All homes should have a working, up to date, carbon monoxide detector on each level of the home.
Read the Owner Manual Before Use. Follow all safety instructions and warnings, and the decals on the generator.
