Each fully automatic home standby generator has a Generac G-Force engine, purpose built by Generac for rigorous duty of a home standby generator. G-Force engines have a fully pressurized lubrication system with an automotive-style oil filter. Low-oil shutdown protects the engine if the oil runs low and alerts the homeowner. The engine design maximizes breathing for better fuel efficiency. Generac added plateau-honed, cast-iron cylinder walls with plasma moly rings to run cooler and reduce oil consumption for a long engine life.

Generac’s G-Force Engine is purpose built with pressurized lubrication specifically to handle the extreme demands of a standby generator—to run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until power is restored by the utility. The G-Force Engine provides the most reliable power and requires less maintenance than any competitive engine available.

Quiet-Test Self-Test Mode runs on a regular schedule for five or twelve minutes at a lower RPM to reduce noise, which makes the Guardian Standby Generators much quieter than other brands. Lower RPM uses less fuel, which makes the generator more economical and ecologically sound. The schedule is user selectable via the controller for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly automatic operation, another potential savings by lowering maintenance and fuel costs.
