Cummins Onan P4500i 50 Amp Parallel Kit

The Cummins Onan 50 Amp Parallel Kit for the P4500i Generator allows two inverter generators to run in parallel and provide up to twice the power of a single generator. The A058M290 works with two P4500i generators or one P4500i and one P2500i generator.

Running two P4500i generators in parallel has advantages over a single generator.

• A single generator provides up to 3700 running watts. Parallel P4500i doubles the power output to 7400 watts and up to 9000 starting watts—that’s enough for two 15,000 BTU RV Air Conditioners, the refrigerator, and other lights and appliances.
• The outlet on the kit is a 50 Amp 120-Volt Receptacle. Add an extension cord on a generator outlet to use the full 61.6 Amps at 120 Volts (75 starting amps).
• Two P4500i Generators with a 50 Amp Parallel Kit share the load. A 100 percent load for one generator is a 50 percent load for two generators. Run time is much longer for the parallel generators than a single generator. For example, if the load would use up the fuel in 7 hours on a single generator, two will run for 15 hours before refueling.
• Reduced load on the parallel generators reduces the noise level.

Using the 50 Amp Generator Parallel Kit is simple. Always start with both generators off and the economy switches in the off position. Shut down the generators before disconnecting the parallel kit.

1. Plug the 50 Amp Parallel Kit Cable into both generator parallel ports and connect the grounds.
2. Start the first generator, wait for the green light.
3. Start the second generator, wait for the green light.
4. Connect your load.
