I purchased two 7KW units. Both units lasted less than two years as the motors went into overspeed and destroyed themselves. Not covered by warranty! Replaced both motors and sold one. The other one lasted less than 9 months when again it went into overspeed and destroyed itself. Company says there is no problem with that unit. Contacted three (3) repair facilities and all said there is a problem with ALL single cylinder Generac Generators. The motor somehow goes into overspeed and destroys itself. The units I purchased were vertical motor ones but the repair guys say that all single cylinder Generac (both vertical and horizontal motor) units are NOT RECOMMENDED. Company will not even call me back to discuss how to get a reliable generator.
