Champion CO Shield Automatic Shutdown
This generator comes equipped with CO Shield, a carbon monoxide sensor that shuts the generator down when it detects Carbon Monoxide.
The Champion 201297 generator is for outdoor use only, positioned away from homes and other buildings, with the exhaust pointed away from any persons or buildings.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, invisible gas produced by internal combustion engines and any device that burns a fuel to produce heat or energy. The CO Shield shutdown feature adds an extra measure of safety to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning caused by misuse.
The Champion Owner Manual explicitly states that the generator is only for use outdoors. Keep the generator at least 20-feet away from any windows, doors, vents, or other openings with the exhaust pointed away from buildings and preferably downwind.
According to the Champion Owner Manual and Website, this generator May NOT run indoors. All homes should have a working, up to date, carbon monoxide detector on each level of the home.
Read the Owner Manual Before Use. Obey all safety instructions and the safety decals on the generator.
