The RA412S3 is a 2-Pole, 400 Amp Service Entrance Rated Automatic Transfer Switch with a UL-489 listed Circuit Breaker for 120/240-Volt single phase installations for use with Cummins RS Generator Sets.
The RA412S3 transfer switch monitors utility power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When utility power becomes unsatisfactory or fails, the transfer switch signals the generator set to start, then automatically transfers the load when the generator is ready. When stable utility power returns, the transfer switch automatically switches the electrical load from the generator to the utility. No action is required by the homeowner.
RA series automatic transfer switches are UL-1008 listed and suitable for use in standby power systems for residential and light commercial applications. The RA412S3 adheres to National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements.
The transfer switch mechanism features a powerful solenoid and a “break-before-make” connection—the connection to utility power is broken before the connection to generator power is made. The same make-before-break action occurs when the switch transfers from generator power to utility power.
Electrical and mechanical interlocks prevent the simultaneous connection of utility power and generator power to ensure that normal and emergency power sources are never connected at the same time. The utility power is always isolated from generator power.
All switches comply with NEMA ICS 10, NFPA 70, and are UL-1008 listed for safety with UL listed CU-AL terminals.
