200 Amp Single Phase 120/240 Volts Whole House Switch Indoor/Outdoor NEMA 3R UL 1449 Made in the USA
Generac 200 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch with built in Surge Protection Device (SPD). Meets the new NEC Requirement 2020/2023 Article 230.67 for a Surge Protection Device.
Article 230.67: "A Type 1 or Type 2 surge protection device (SPD) is required to be installed on dwelling unit services. The SPD may be integral to or adjacent to the electrical service. Additionally, an SPD will be required when an existing service is replaced."
The Generac SE Rated ATS is a whole house switch for connecting a standby generator to the main service panel. Every home standby generator system requires a transfer switch. When an outage strikes, the generator starts within seconds and signals the transfer switch. The transfer switch disconnects the utility from the home's electrical system before it connects the generator. When the utility restores power, the system switches back to utility power and the generator shuts down.
The Surge Protection Device meets requirements for Type 1 and Type 2 installations.
