Westinghouse WMTS30A10C Details and Specifications

Westinghouse Manual Transfer Switch

8 Circuits         Compatible with L14-30R Generator Outlets           Dual Watt Meters

The Westinghouse Manual Transfer Switch allows your portable generator to connect safely and easily to your home’s electrical system. The 8-circuit transfer switch has six 120-Volt 15-amp circuits and two 240-Volt 20-amp circuits, balanced between the two sides of the 120/240-Volt Supply from the generator.

Eliminate multiple extension cords between the generator and the house. A single generator cord plugs into the generator L14-30R outlet and the included inlet box. When the power goes out during a blackout or power outage, connect the included generator to the inlet box and the portable generator. You’re ready to restore power to the circuits connected to the transfer switch.

The inlet box mounts outside the house near the best location for a portable generator. The inlet box connects to the transfer switch mounted near the circuit breaker panel inside the house.

*This transfer switch is suitable for connection to a 30-Amp Generator Outlet. Never connect a 30-Amp Transfer Switch to 50-Amp Generator Outlet.

Westinghouse 8-Circuit Transfer Switch

The Westinghouse 8-Circuit Transfer Switch has six single pole 120-volt circuits rated at 15 amps, and two double-pole circuits rated at 20 amps. Each circuit has its own circuit breaker and separate selector switch to choose between utility line power and generator power.

Setup during an outage is simple.

  1. Connect the generator to the inlet box with the included generator cord.
  2. Start the generator and move the main generator circuit breaker to the “On” position.
  3. At the manual transfer switch, switch the loads one at a time from Line to Generator starting with the heaviest load. Give the generator about 5 seconds to recover when adding a heavy load like an air conditioner or pump motor.
  4. When the utility restores power, move the selector switches back to Line. Let the generator run without a load for two-three minutes, then shut it down. Allow it to cool before storing.

Includes a Westinghouse 5-Year Limited Warranty (see Owner Manual).
