Automatically Manages 1-6 Residential Loads 2 HVAC Loads 4 Non-Essential Secondary Loads
The Kohler Load Shed Kit GM88281-KP1-QS monitors generator current and frequency to manage up to six residential loads, including 2 HVAC Air Conditioners and up to 4 secondary loads using Kohler Power Relay Modules GM92001-KP1-QS.
Compatible with Kohler Single Phase Generators equipped with a RDC2 or DC2 controller and a RXT (no load center) RTD (no load center) RTD 200 Amp with 42 Circuit Load Center Automatic Transfer Switch
Load Shed disconnects non-critical loads to prevent generator overload as required by NEC 2008.
By monitoring the current and frequency, the load shed kit can disconnect loads when the frequency drops to prevent damage to sensitive electronics like computers and televisions. Use of a Load Shed Kit allows a smaller, more efficient generator to supply a home.
The kit adds and sheds loads according to set priority from 1-6. Priority 1 is the highest priority and is added first and shed last. Priority 6 is the lowest priority.
Load priority is set during installation.
