PowerProtect Series generators install just 18 inches from your home, taking up less space and fitting into your landscape. The Briggs & Stratton 40679 includes Dual 200 Amp/Split 400 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch for installation on a 400-Amp or 300-Amp service with two main circuit breaker panels. Add an optional power management system (see below) for whole house power management.

The Briggs and Stratton 26kW Generator has a 993 cc V-Twin OHV Vanguard commercial-grade engine equipped with Low Oil Shutdown to prevent engine damage. This standby generator set also has a high temperature shutdown, LED display, and a built-in battery charger. The aluminum enclosure withstands hurricane-force winds up to 186 MPH. This generator is compatible with the Symphony II and Amplify Power Management systems to ensure your home and family have the power they need when they need it.

26kW Briggs and Stratton Generator 400 Amp Split Service Transfer Switch
The 26kW Briggs and Stratton Generator restores power to your home during utility outages. Fully automatic, it works in any weather including hurricanes, Whether you’re at home, away on vacation, or sleeping in your bed, the 26kW generator senses a power outage. Within seconds, the generator starts and signals the automatic transfer switch. The ATS switches from utility to generator power. A compatible power management system allows you to prioritize the most important heavy loads.
Where temperatures fall below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, install a battery warmer and oil warmer to ensure fast, easy starts. In below freezing temperatures, a warm battery provides more power for starting the generator. Warm oil lubricates better, which prolongs engine life and makes it easier to start.
Power Management
The New Briggs and Stratton Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch systems include an Amplify 200-Amp Service Rated Transfer Switch and Amplify Gateway Module.
With Amplify power management, the homeowner can control up to 32 prioritized appliances via the Standby Generator Management App. The Amplify system requires the Gateway, Dual Low Voltage Modules, and High Voltage Modules. Low voltage modules manage appliances with controls like a thermostat—Air Conditioners, Furnaces, and Heat Pumps. High voltage appliances like electric ranges, water heaters, and electric dryers use the high voltage modules.
The Standby Generator Management App allows the homeowner to change system priorities as needed. For example, the electric range might receive a higher priority over the electric dryer while cooking dinner.
Briggs and Stratton Generators are compatible with Symphony II power management. Symphony II controls up to eight circuits with low voltage modules, dual low voltage modules, and 50-amp modules. Priority is set during installation.
Briggs and Stratton 26kW Generator installations require the use of a Carbon Monoxide Detector inside the home to guard against CO Poisoning.
