Safety and convenience with automatic low oil and carbon monoxide detection and shutdown, automatic voltage regulation, and overload protection. Equipped with a 212cc 4-stroke OHV Westinghouse engine fitted with a cast iron cylinder sleeve, the 5300 Watt WGen5300sc is EPA and CARB compliant.
Enjoy up to 14.5 hours of continuous run time on a single 4.7 gallon tank of gasoline.
CO Detection and Shutdown
The WGen5300sc generator is intended for outdoor use only, positioned away from homes and other buildings, with the exhaust pointed away from any persons or buildings.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, invisible gas produced by internal combustion engines and any device that burns a fuel to produce heat or energy. This generator is equipped with a carbon monoxide sensor that shuts the generator down when it detects rising CO levels above a preset threshold. The CO Sensor and Shutdown feature adds an additional measure of safety to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning caused by misuse.
The Westinghouse WGen5300sc Manual specifically states that the generator may NOT run indoors.

The 120/240-Volt Switch on the Generator Control Panel optimizes 120-Volt Operation or switch to 120/240-Volt Operation for connection to a manual transfer switch or powering 240-volt loads. The 120-Volt Outlets are inactive when the switch is set to 240 Volts.
