Portable Propane Generator
Portable Propane Generators run on a readily accessible fuel that stores safely and easily with a long shelf life. LP propane is eco-friendly and an economical alternative to gasoline.
Most new models can run on either propane or gasoline making the Propane Powered Generator more versatile than gasoline alone. Propane eliminates storage and transportation issues. The convenient cylinders come in sizes ranging from 20 pounds to 100 pounds, making it easy to extend running times to overnight or even a few days.
Propane Powered Generator
A propane powered generator uses an internal combustion engine much like a gasoline engine. The propane tank connects to the generator engine through a pressure regulator. A second regulator controls the fuel flow through the carburetor where air mixes with the fuel before entering the cylinder.
Some Portable Propane Generators that also run on gasoline allow you to switch from one fuel to the other without shutting off the generator. Turn a knob that changes the fuel selection and the generator changes from gasoline to propane or propane to gasoline. It’s another way to extend run time without refueling.
LP Propane Portable Generator
LP or LPG stands for Liquified Petroleum Gas and may be any of the gases that include propane, methane, butane, ethane, and others. LPG is a byproduct of natural gas and petroleum refinement. Propane turns to a liquid under moderate pressure for storage in tanks and bottles of various sizes as Propane Portable Generator engine fuel or as a heating and cooking fuel.
Liquid Propane boils at -42 degrees into a vapor. Space in the tank or bottle gives the propane room to evaporate. The vapor passes through the fuel line to the Portable Propane Generator engine.
Portable LP Propane Generators
Portable Propane Generators use LP as a clean burning and economical fuel. Propane has less energy than gasoline. Generators that run on either gasoline or propane typically produce less power while using propane.
However, Propane has specific advantages that make it an ideal fuel. The gas conveniently stores in large stationary and small portable tanks for a Portable Propane Generator and other small engines. It won’t leak noxious gasoline fumes while traveling and it stores indefinitely. Gasoline has a shelf life of less than a year under ideal conditions and requires stabilizers to extend shelf life.
Portable LP Propane Generators at Norwall
Portable Propane Generator sizes start at 1700 running watts through 12,000 watts with options for Carbon Monoxide detection and shutdown, remote or electric start, and 120/240-Volt Operation. Most models also run on gasoline.
