In cold weather, the coolant heater, oil heater, and CCV heaters turn on automatically to keep the engine warm and ready for fast starts. In Sub Zero (Fahrenheit) temperatures. Warm engine oil provides better lubrication in colder temperatures. Warm coolant keeps the engine block warm, making it easier for the engine to start.
